Alerting Miners Application Note
The low light conditions of a mine or tunnel pose some serious safety risks for personnel underground. One of these risks is that it can be hard to identify where people are unless you are directly facing them. In parts of Canada, mines have started to have workers clip on small blue flashing lights to the back of their hard hat that alerts other miners and drivers of their position. These clip-on lights are another piece of equipment that miners can easily lose or forget and management must maintain and manage.
While working in partnership with a Canadian Gold mining group to develop the tracking and collision enabled Northern Light® Eagle, NLT incorporated a rear-facing tail-light feature to the design. Find out more by following the link below!
